Anies Inaugurates Colombian Artists Mural Works of Colombian Artists in TIM

Let us make this momentum to realize Jakarta as a space of artistic and cultural expression

Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan, inaugurated the mural art in Taman Ismail Marzuki (TIM), Jalan Cikini Raya, Menteng, Central Jakarta that is the creation of Colombian artist, Ledania.

"Let us make this momentum to realize Jakarta as a space of artistic and cultural expression. Jakarta must be seen as a canvas, and we invite artists to attend and produce works of art in open spaces that can be enjoyed by all citizens," he expressed, Monday (9/10).

He explained that Jakarta Provincial Government has prepared the corridors of Jalan Sudirman and Jalan MH Thamrin as a space of artistic and cultural expression that begins with the Getah Getih bamboo installation work.

Aside that, during the Asian Games, villages in Jakarta were also decorated by various mural artworks.

"Citizens can be invited to contribute, the work can be enjoyed together throughout the year," he explained.

He added that the cooperation between the city and the Colombian Embassy needs to be followed up by exchanging experiences and knowledge between mural artists from Colombia and Jakarta.

"The mural works in the TIM must be an inspiration to be intensified in other places," he expressed.

In the meantime, a mural artist from Colombia, Ledania was happy to be able to get space to work in TIM.

"I worked on it for 5 days. This mural art symbolizes an expression of happiness," he uttered.
